Oath was administered to Robert Larimore when he was commissioned first lieutenant and adjutant of the 27th Infantry Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Militia organized in Ross County, Ohio. Record includes Larimore's signature, justice of the peace's signature, and date.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio.
